Best books showing subnetting tips, tricks, shortcuts
Posted by: inquisitive - 01-30-2014, 05:37 AM - Forum: General - No Replies

Which books show the best way to master subnetting along with tips and tricks as well as shortcuts? I heard ICND1 is about 60% subnetting questions.

  Passed the CCNA 220-120 test..
Posted by: josh378 - 01-29-2014, 02:32 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - Replies (2)

Studied with both a 220-120 book and the How2Pass website, was able to pass with a 876. I felt I could have scored higher, but I wouldn't have passed at all without how2pass training site that had helped me understand key testing aspects that wasn't clear in the book I was reading. Thanks guys!

  RTE320 - Exhibit Missing?

I'm a little baffled by this question. I have to imagine that there's a missing diagram that would provide some context.

  Passed ICND 1
Posted by: jsterril - 01-20-2014, 03:26 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - No Replies

Passed with a 933.  Used a CCNA study guide I bought, took ICND 1 class, and used the How2Pass practice tests.  The worst thing was that I only found out about How2Pass the day before I sat for the exam so I'm not sure I used the site to its fullest potential, but it was VERY helpful.  Here was my study regimen:

Read 5 study guide chapters a week. (three weeks)
Took the ICND 1 class. (one week)
Took the How2Pass ICND 1 "Random practice test all topics" about 6 times the day before I sat for the exam.
Sat for the exam the day the class ended.

About the only thing I plan on doing differently before I sit for the ICND 2 exam is to hit the practice tests earlier than the day before the exam.

I highly recommend How2Pass!

  CCNP route passed!
Posted by: sdavidson - 11-08-2013, 08:54 PM - Forum: CCNP ENARSI 300-410 Forum - No Replies

Finally got this monkey off my back...but he didnt want to go that easy!!  Eased in with a few familiar questions then got the Lab 5 EIGRP lab. did it exactly like H2P but noticed I didnt have the summary route in table for R4 or the 2 subnets in R3!!!!! didn;t see what i did wrong....everytime i did sh run on R3 it kept showing eigrp connected summary which put me off! i know it does this by default but really put me off seeing it there...i tried changing the ip summarry eigrp 123 subnets, etc but didnt help/Every so often I saw the 2 subnets on R3 but then it would disappear next time i did sh ip route(i just think the Cisco exam simulators are dodgy!)....time was ticking so eventaully i left it after 30 mins or so as I was getting sweaty. the rest was mainly from H2P with the redistribute lab 7 a little changed with all this extra loopbacks, etc on every router but this was there simply to look different. they asked for a ping AND telnet to work from R1 loopback 101 but telnet was not available or pinging from a loopback source..again cisco simulator commands ! i just left it, carried on and came out with 976 in the end !

considering I panicked for a bit and was very surprised at my score,  to be honest these tests really aren't that hard at all! The best thing i learned from all this study was in a quote I got from the CCNP route study guide by Bryant - " Knowledge destroys fear and panic" !  - Great for exams and life Smile

H2P Hands on Lab no 7 query
Posted by: sdavidson - 11-07-2013, 03:40 PM - Forum: CCNP ENARSI 300-410 Forum - No Replies

Hi all,
Just a quick question on Lab 7 for CCNP route - why do the Eigrp routes have to be redistributed into OSPF as metric-type 1 ? there is no mention of this in the lab question and we get the exact same result if we just use the default metric of type 2 as the routes are chosen because of the AD (109) and not the cost metric!

R2(config-router)#redistribute eigrp 100 metric-type 1 subnets
! Redistribute EIGRP routes into OSPF as type 1 external routes.

thanks
Steven

  CCNA/CCENT/ICND2 Changes - 9/30/2013
Posted by: forumsupport - 09-29-2013, 07:52 AM - Forum: Site News & Issues - No Replies

CCNA 640-802/CCENT 640-822/ICND2 640-816 exams are retiring on 9/30/2013 for general public. How2Pass Practice Tests for new CCNA/ICND1/ICND2 exams will hopefully be available till November 2013.

Practice Tests for new exams will be released as separate products. Existing members of 640-xxx products will NOT be automatically switched to new exam products. They will have to purchase them separately.

As already stated in FAQs, the remaining time on one product cannot be switched to another product.

Reason for delay
--------------------
We do not offer half-cooked material. It takes time to get sufficient inside information about new exams and then prepare questions and labs.

  Passed ICND2
Posted by: bcarlson - 09-21-2013, 12:01 PM - Forum: Exam Experience - Replies (1)

I passed last Friday after failing the first two tries.  The last time I had tried was over a year ago.  I studied very hard, but it was these practice tests that made the difference.  They were right on.  Interesting to note, though, was that I took the new ICND2 test, not the old one.  Very few new questions.  Hardly any IPv6 questions.  But the test number was for the new one.

  Passed CCNA 640-802 (Score 960)

Hi All,

I passed my CCNA exam today (20/09/2013), my score is 960. I read Todd Lammle (CCNA Fast Track) and used How2pass for real exam experience.

I'll recommend How2pass (CCNA) to anybody writting CCNA exam.

Regards

Ani
