Advise on CCNP-Urgent
#1
Hello All
THis summer I am thinking of doing certifications of CCNA and CNNP. I have the following question.
1)Should I just prepare for CCNP or should I first do CCNA and thne start CCNP.
2)Is it possible to do both CCNa and CCNP in three months(in summer I am free). If yes, how should I go about, assuming I will be studying on my own.
Your help will be appreciated a lot!!
Thanx

CCNA is required before taking any CCNP exams. Each CCNP exam covers widely varied topics, so I'm not sure if you'd be able to get it all in during one summer.

Thanx for your input!
According to you how much of the CCNA and CCNP would I be able to cover in the summer (3 months).
Also can you please specify , how should I go about (CCNA+CCNP) to utilise the maximum time in the summer and cover the most of the CCNA + CCNP
Thanx again!!

It is hard to say how much you can fit into 3 months. Some people can probably learn enough to complete the CCNA and all CCNP exams in 3 months. Others may take 3 months to learn the CCENT material (first part of CCNA). If you are a fast learner, motivated, and can consistently dedicate 6-8 hours of study time per day, I guess you could knock out the CCNA (composite exam) and the CCNP Composite (642-892, which covers BSCI and BCMSN). This will leave ISCW and ONT to be CCNP certified.

I want to be clear, though: don't expect this type of learning and certification to adequately prepare you for a job in this market without some other type of hands on training/learning or experience. Its easy to lose this knowledge without regularly using it.
